Applications Now Open for the 6th Recovery Leadership Academy

We are excited to share that the Recovery Leadership Academy (RLA) is now accepting applications for its 6th cohort!

The RLA is an intensive leadership development program designed for Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS) and National Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialists (NCPRSS) who are ready to take the next step in their leadership journey.

This program isn’t just about training—it’s about transformation. Participants, called Emerging Leaders, take part in a year-long process that includes:

  • Leadership Assessments: Discover your strengths and growth areas through tools like Emotional Intelligence 2.0 and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

  • Monthly Training & Mentorship: Learn practical leadership skills, connect with mentors, and collaborate on a capstone team project.

  • Recognition & Certification: Present your project at the closing session in Richmond and earn a certificate in leadership.

Why Apply?

The RLA provides a unique opportunity to grow personally and professionally while making a meaningful impact in the recovery community. Past participants have gained valuable skills, built lasting connections, and gone on to serve as mentors for future cohorts.

Who Should Apply?

Applicants must be CPRSs or NCPRSSs with lived experience of recovery and a demonstrated commitment to the behavioral health field. A minimum of two years of work or volunteer experience in the field is required. Applicants must also have support from their supervisors and be able to commit fully to the program dates.
