“The biggest obstacles I think people in recovery face are triggers and not having the coping skills to deal with them. Also not having the support network and accountability that's needed, especially early on in the process. But the most helpful thing is just to always put your recovery first. Go to meetings. Work the steps. Get a sponsor. Find a support network. Whatever works for you, you have to put forth the effort. Something that gives me hope is seeing other people get better on a regular basis, as well as giving back to those who are not as far along as I am in their recovery process.” -Melissa, 2 years, 8 months in recovery
