SAARA of Virginia Announces the Appointment of New Board Member Kysha Washington

SAARA of Virginia announced today the appointment of Kysha Washington to the board of directors.  This brings the total number of board members to 12.

“We welcome Kysha and her extensive knowledge of recovery support, crisis intervention and treatment procedures,” said Board President Fredericka Jones. “She will undoubtedly be a valued addition to the board.”

Kysha is a seasoned human services administrator with over 20 years of clinical experience. She holds a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University and has worked for a variety of organizations, including the Hanover County Community Services Board, Daily Planet Health Services, and the Henrico Area Mental Health and Developmental Services. Kysha was awarded the Virginia Clinical Counselors Alliance’s Division Member of the Year in 2016, as well as the Virginia Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development Member of the Year for 2011.

“We are thrilled to have someone like Kysha on the board,” said SAARA’s Executive Director Victor McKenzie Jr. “The level experience and insight she brings to the table are top tier, and exactly what we need as we expand SAARA’s role as a recovery leader in the commonwealth.”
