Juneteenth Now Observed as a Paid State Holiday

Dear SAARA of Virginia Members and Partners,

 

Juneteenth which is also known as Emancipation Day and Freedom Day is celebrated annually on June 19th. Governor Ralph Northam announced beginning June 19, 2020 Juneteenth will be observed as a permanent paid state holiday. Click HERE to review Governor Ralph Northam's press release. 

 

SAARA of Virginia is committed to the health and well-being of both staffs and the individuals we serve. To commemorate the end of slavery in the U.S., SAARA of Virginia will be closed Friday, June 19, 2020. 

 

Richard Howard, Peer Recovery Specialist with SAARA of Virginia has volunteered to host two recovery groups on Friday, June 19, 2020 to virtually celebrate the holiday.
