SAARA is governed by a Board of Directors that includes a representative from each affiliate chapter. SAARA Affiliates are chapters of SAARA of Virginia that each serve a defined geographic region of the state and fulfill the purpose and mission of SAARA of Virginia. Each Affiliate has its own bylaws and elected officers.

There are proven effective addiction treatment and prevention services called evidence-based practices.
